![]() Boycott - a refusal to have dealings with an organization in order to express disapproval I have a boycott policy against Publix SupermarketsPublix was added to my boycott list due to discrimination practices against employees and customers. Publix Supermarkets have evolved into a clean supermarket, with a wide selection, and fair prices. It used to not be such a fun place to shop, especially if you were black or gay. Minorities faced a hostile environment when shopping at Publix, and the market even extended the hostility to employees. They eventually replaced all of their founding management and have turned things around. We should probably remove this boycott and replace it with "probation" - but we still have one sticking point that keeps this boycott in place. Did they change things because it was the right thing to do - or change things because of a lawsuit??? The timing of their management changes suggest the latter. At what point should we stop our boycott? Is it fair to give them our business now - even though they originally profited by excluding others? Do they deserve a second chance? We will leave it up to you to decide for yourself. Give them a chance, but keep an eye on them to see if they have really changed their colors. |

"You don't get to choose who you love, but you do get to choose who you hate. Hating on the haters just doubles the hate. If you replace all of your hatred with love, the hate is canceled out and the world stays in balance. Choose love and no more hate!"
