Boycott - a refusal to have dealings with an organization in order to express disapproval

I have a boycott policy against the Medical Information Bureau (MIB)

The Medical Information Bureau (MIB) was added to my boycott list due to their data collection practices.

Details: If you read the fine print when filling out insurance forms, you will sometimes see a reference to the Medical Information Bureau.

Insurance companies share medical data about claims that are filed with this group, which acts like a clearinghouse of medical data.

Unlike the credit bureaus, many people are not aware that their medical data is being shared and collected by the Medical Information Bureau. By filling out certain medical forms, you are agreeing to let your sensitive medical data be collected by this agency.

Also unlike credit bureaus, there is no easy way for a consumer to view their data on file and no easy way to correct data that may have errors.

We boycott this group, because we believe that consumers should be aware of how their data is being used, should be able to view the data collected, and should be presented with the opportunity to correct any data that may contain errors.
