Bradley Manning

PFC Bradley Manning

American World Hero

On May 29th, 2010, Army Private First Class Bradley Manning was arrested for allegedly leaking evidence of war crimes to the whistle-blower web site WikiLeaks.org. Among the thousands of embarrassing classified documents was a video taken from US Apache helicopters as they intentionally murder 11 innocent civilians in Iraq.

PFC Manning could be put to death for the charge of "aiding the enemy", but the military says they are not seeking the death penalty. If convicted, he could face 52 years in prison, forfeiture of all of his pay and benefits, fines, and a dishonorable discharge from the Army.

Private Manning has been tortured and held in solitary confinement for over 300 days for exposing these war crimes.

Torture of Manning includes being in isolation for 23 hours a day. Many hours he has been forced to sit naked in his isolation cell. He is being tortured through sleep deprivation when he is awakened every hour and must verbally respond to the brig guards.

A posting on The Wright Perspective™ details a typical day for PFC Bradley Manning

The American soldiers who actually committed these 11 heinous murders (and those who covered it up) have had no charges filed against them.

A soldier who committed war crimes in Afghanistan is only facing 24 years in prison. Why is Bradley Manning being so harshly punished while the real criminals go free?

The murder video (posted at CollateralMurder.com) has sparked international rage and thousands have shown their support for Bradley Manning in demonstrations held around the world.

The government has illegally denied Manning visits from Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Amnesty International, and Juan Mendez who is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture.
