McKinney and Americans being released from Israeli jail

Cynthia McKinney news: I just received word that the Americans (including Cynthia) are being released from Israeli jail and arriving in New York on Monday. I am so happy that no one was harmed! I just knew they would all be killed on the spot.

The reports that I have seen show from GPS data that the humanitarian ship was still in international waters when they were attacked by the Israeli Navy. First, they jammed all of the radios and navigation equipment. Then they surrounded the ship, tore down it's Greek flag, imprisoned all of the people, and took the boat full of supplies. The boat was not carrying any weapons - only medical supplies, school supplies and toys for the children of Gaza, and cement to repair the schools that have been bombed by the planes we gave to Israel.

One question I have to ask: Why was this story not covered by the press? Wait - don't answer that, I think I know the answer! If this had happened in any country other than Israel, it would have been all over the news.

I don't even want to get into the whole ordeal going on over there with anybody! Never discuss religion or politics with friends, unless you want to lose your friends.

I am, however, very thankful that (so far) no one has been harmed (other than sitting in jail for a while). I haven't heard the fate of the non-Americans yet, but many will have obstacles to overcome when they get deported to their country of origin.

The passenger list of this humanitarian effort is very impressive. It is probably the biggest gathering of the top activists in the world, and I pray they will all return to their homes safely. It would have been a great loss to our nation and the world if this remarkable group of people had been executed.

I completely understand Cynthia McKinney's need for action, the cost of not taking action would have been a much greater burden to bear than trying to help only to fail. As my former congresswoman (for six terms), she has literally saved my life on more than one occasion. I was wondering if I was going to have to go over there and bust her out all by myself.

Did all of this mess really change anything? Probably not. I hate saying that, but I think it is true.
