Don?t buy HD-DVD players & content! It?s being discontinuedThursday, March 20th, 2008There has been a long battle between High-Definition DVD and Blu-Ray DVD, and now we finally have an official winner! The winner is the Blu-Ray format, so don?t buy HD-DVD players or content on HD-DVD because it is being discontinued. There are advantages and disadvantages between the two formats and since they use different lasers (one is red, the other is blue) it is too expensive to create a device that is compatible with all formats. Did you already buy HD-DVD??? Well, keep your receipt and contact the store where you bought it. Some stores will allow you to return it or get a credit voucher. This sometimes happens when you try to stay on the leading edge of technology. You may see some really good deals on HD-DVD gear, but keep in mind that the format is being discontinued and just like Betamax - the players and the media format will eventually become rare.
