How to help soldiers and sailors without supporting the warWednesday, March 5th, 2008I read another blog where someone was trying to find a way to help our troops. Here was my suggestion: I am a disabled veteran, and I would like to submit a suggestion on how to support the soldiers and sailors without supporting the war: Donate or Volunteer at your nearest USO (United Services Organization) USO.org To quote their site: They are a private nonprofit who supports the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. I first discovered them on my way to boot camp. My plane was late and we got stuck at an airport. They rounded all of us up, ordered a pizza, and gave us all a place to rest. While I was on active duty, they were always there showing movies, giving us access to telephones, television lounges, game lounges, etc. Best regards, -- Gary Wright II |

"If ever we find ourselves with nothing in common, let us start by remembering that we all look up at the exact same moon. Our common ground is right there in the sky. Let's start at the moon, and then work our way back down to earth."
