Three men plead guilty to burning nine churches in AlabamaThursday, December 21, 2006Matthew Cloyd, Benjamin Nathan Moseley, and Russell Lee Debusk face federal arson and conspiracy charges for burning nine churches in Alabama. The three are also charged with state crimes in Bibb, Pickens, Greene, and Sumter counties, including arson, burglary, criminal mischief, and cruelty to animals for killing a cow. US District Judge David Proctor told them they all face minimum seven-year sentences. Underage drinking is involved because they are age 20 to 21 years old. The members of these churches have been through a terrifying period of time since the fires. I can only hope that this brought them closer to their god and to each other. I hope that they can continue to heal knowing the truth about what happened during this traumatic time of their lives. |

"If ever we find ourselves with nothing in common, let us start by remembering that we all look up at the exact same moon. Our common ground is right there in the sky. Let's start at the moon, and then work our way back down to earth."
