Cherokee Nation Raises Minimum WageThursday, November 16, 2006The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council passed a minimum wage act for employees of the Cherokee Nation and its corporations and entities. The increase will be implemented over a period of two years. After January 1, 2007, the minimum wage will start at $7.50 per hour, and will increase to $9 per hour in 2008. The wages will be prorated for all employees making below $8.49 per hour. |
